In the middle of our menu line, you’ll find the meat-and-potatoes of MCL is no longer just meat and potatoes.
Cedar Plank Salmon- A fresh and healthy choice. The salmon is prepared and served on a cedar plank which gives it a wonderful woody flavor.
Carved Roast Beef- Slow-roasted each night for 8 to 9 hours, our beef is tender and juicy. Served with au jus and freshly carved for your enjoyment.
Fried Chicken- The secret blend of spices that go into the breading date back more than 50 years to the days when the founder of MCL spent his free time perfecting the recipe. The chicken is hand-dipped, hand-breaded and fried to a golden crisp. You can choose between white meat such as a breast or wing, or a leg or thigh if dark meat is more to your taste.
Baked Fish- We offer several varieties of fish. The planked salmon is a fresh and healthy choice. The salmon is prepared and served off a cedar plank which gives it a wonderful woodsy flavor. We also offer an Atlantic haddock, cod filet, tilapia with a homemade bread crumb topping, and baked whitefish.
Homemade Casserole- Lillian's Chicken Casserole is a classic family recipe mixing egg noodles and tender, pulled-from-the bone chicken with a creamy chicken sauce, which is topped with a homemade bread crumb topping and baked to perfection.
Baked or Grilled Chicken- You can choose between an 8 oz. boneless, skinless chicken breast that is char-grilled, or a bone-in chicken breast with wing or a leg and thigh, slowly roasted in the oven and seasoned with herb butter. Both make for a delicious and healthy meal.
Noon Special Sandwich- A terrific deal, the Noon Special includes our daily sandwich and your choice of a side salad or vegetable or cup of soup plus a drink. Available 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
Chicken and Noodles- This savory favorite is a classic recipe of ours. We take thick, made-from-scratch noodles and juicy, pulled-from-the-bone chicken and cook it with a creamy chicken stock until it thickens. We suggest you try it on top of the mashed potatoes as hearty Midwestern fare.
Beef Manhattan- This Heartland classic is a serving of hand-carved roast beef sandwiched between freshly baked white or wheat bread, cut on a diagonal, served around a mound of mashed potatoes and smothered in made-from-scratch brown gravy.
Ham and Beans- Freshly carved ham is diced and slowly simmered with white beans in a seasoned broth until a tender, rich flavor emerges.
Liver and Onions- Caramelized sautéed onions and sliced liver is sauced and baked in the oven, providing a sweet and savory taste you won't find anywhere else.
Angus Swiss Steak- Our Angus beef is tenderized, rolled out with a pin, seasoned in flour and covered in a homemade gravy of fresh vegetables, carrots, tomatoes, celery and onions, then braised in the oven until fork-tender.
Stuffed Chicken Breast- We serve 6 oz. of boneless, skinless chicken breast, seasoned with herbed butter, baked with homemade cornbread dressing and covered with a light gravy.
Salmon Supreme- This traditional recipe combines salmon and flakes of cod with cracker meal, eggs and onions. It is then fried until crisp and golden on the outside, while still moist and tender on the inside.
Baked Tilapia Filet- This moist and flavorful tilapia is flown in fresh to our kitchens where we
season it with a special blend of paprika and other spices and bake it to perfection.
Fish Almondine- This classic family recipe consists of a generous portion of whitefish encrusted with cracker breading and almonds, hand-dipped in egg and then fried until golden.
Fresh Whole Catfish- A lone fisherman in Louisiana catches the catfish each day and ships them to us, where we then dip each in milk, cover them with a seasoned cornmeal breading and fry them until golden.
Chopped Steak- We take chopped steak and grill it until juicy, then serve it with grilled onions
and au jus.
